Canada – Commercial samples only. However, if you wish to enter Canada with professional equipment, you should contact Customs in Canada at the place where you will be arriving to check that they will accept a carnet for your goods. You must provide the Chamber with a letter to state that you accept full responsibility for any problems that you may encounter using a carnet for professional equipment to Canada.
Canary Islands – Carnets are compulsory.

China – For HAND CARRIED goods Carnet will need to be registered with CCPIT at the time of clearing Chinese Customs. For FREIGHTED goods Carnet will need to be pre-declared by the Chinese Customs Broker before goods arrive in China.

India – Indian Customs will set a time limit for the re-export, which will be a maximum of 2 months. If you need to stay longer, you can apply to Indian Customs for an extension on the time limit, which they do not necessarily have to grant.

Taiwan – A separate carnet called a CPD/China Taiwan carnet has to be issued for Taiwan.
Thailand
Tunisia – Commercial samples are not permitted.
Turkiye – If you are using a Turkish agent, we will need their name and address. If you are filming, the address where the kit will be held whilst in Turkiye should be shown. Holders must inform the Turkish Customs authority of their intention to visit Türkiye before their arrival on the Turkish Customs territory. U

UAE – Carnets can only be issued for goods going to an international trade fair / exhibition. Please see our resources page with details of the procedure for the temporary import of professional equipment. Professional equipment can enter under exhibitions category, providing a fixer has checked this will be acceptable.
USA – If your goods are going to an exhibition, they must be re-categorised as either commercial samples or professional equipment.
